The Academic Learning Centre continues to provide tutoring support online for Fall term courses. To decide which schedule to use for your appointment, please see the information below. Please note that you are now able to make appointments 4 days in advance, and appointments remain limited to a maximum of 2 per week.


Writing tutoring: Undergraduate students should use the “Undergraduate Student Writing” schedule. Graduate students may also use the “Grad Student Writing and Study Skills” schedule.

Study skills tutoring: Please use the “Content and Study Skills Tutors” schedule.

Bannatyne Campus students should use the “Grad Student Writing and Study Skills” schedule and might prefer to make appointments with Jim, the dedicated instructor for Bannatyne students.

English as an additional language (EAL) support: Make an appointment with Antoanela in the “Content and Study Skills Tutors” schedule.

Number of appointments per week: Students can access a maximum of two 45-minute appointments per week.

Take-home tests and exams: Writing tutors need your instructor’s written permission before they can work with you on a take-home test or exam.

Email address: Students must use their UM or ICM email address to register and log in to this appointment system.

For help: Send an email to academic_learning@umanitoba.ca. The ALC will respond to emails as soon as possible during office hours: 8:30 am-12:00 pm and 1:00 pm- 4:30pm, Monday to Friday.
